Deaf Camp Lessons/Stories

A Note to the Teachers:

This year we want to be sure the students know the story before going to the next story.  The lessons are numbered so you can teach them in order.  Each lesson builds on the next.  If your class doesn’t understand the story in lesson one then you can repeat it. Each day we will need to communicate to Kevin Clark (Deaf Pastor) if our class didn’t understand.  He will use the lesson in the evening service if needed to help everyone have a better understanding of the lesson.  If your class understands lesson one then you can go on to lesson 2. You will see we have five stories that is because some days you may do two stories.   Our hope is that this will allow the students to learn at their level The Story One Method has the five questions and you tell the story five times, this can take a long time depending on how your students respond. Using the Story One method will help the students to be able to retell the stories on their own.  This way when they leave to return home they take the story with them to share with others.

In the lessons you will see there are activities.  We will bring the pictures and the games. Each class will make their own Bible Story book to take home.  These will be the stories we have during camp.  We will bring the materials for the books. We need to make sure you have crayons, markers,glue and scissors. Let us know if we need to bring these supplies too.

We will be arriving a few days before camp starts.  We would like to meet with the teachers and discuss any questions and do some training for Story One method. The Story One information has been posted on the website. It would be most helpful to you if you can go ahead and begin looking at this to become familiar with it.

We are excited and looking forward to see all of you and seeing how God will work at Deaf Camp 2011!

To copy the video to your computer:

  1. Start the video
  2. RIGHT CLICK the video while it is playing
  3. Select “Watch this video on Vimeo”
  4. Once the Vimeo screen opens, look on the right side for “About this video”. There will be a link “Download this video”
  5. Click the “Download this video” and choose a place on your local drive to save the video

The video file format is Adobe Flash. It should open up fine if you have Adobe Flash installed. If it does not open, you can download and install the Adobe Flash player at Adobe Flash Player
